JEvolution Studio Demo Platforms (InstallAnywhere Web Installer)

Windows Instructions:

Installation Pre-Requisites

From the cmd menu run: ipconfig /all
Write down the mac address (physical address) of your lan card or wireless card. You will need this information to activate the sof tware. Do not use a virtual mac address.

Installation Instructions

Go to www.mcmsoftware.com and select download
Download the file JEvolution_DM_3500.zip this is the installer file for windows
After downloading, double-click file JEvolution_DM_3500.zip This will unzip the file and create a directory called "DemoInstall"
From the directory “DemoInstall” double ckick the file Setup.bat (if you are running windows vista, 7, or windows server 2003+) right mouse click on setup.bat and select “properties” and then “compatibility” and change this file to run in compatibility mode for windows XP or windows 2000.
In the prompt: "Where would you like to install:" Enter the name of a folder to be used for the installation, by default mcmsoftware will be used
Select the Default language
Select if you want to run inquires or inquires and updates
Select the program group to be used during installation
Select a mac address to be registered. Please use the mac address selected on the installation pre-requisites.
Restart your computer.

Preparing JEvolution to run

JEvolution creates a program group called “Jevolution Studio Demo” by default.
From the JEvolution Studio DEmo program group select the "Setting Studio" icon and press enter.
From Setting Studio select File-Open and Open file “Setting.properties”
Open the repository tab and setup the connection and press test. You should see a "Connection was successful" message.
Open the setup tab and select the location of the browser to use. By deafult IE will be located at: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe; Mozilla Firefox will be at: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe.
File->Save or hit the save icon. You should get two messages: "Connection was successful" and "Setting file has been created".
Close the dialog window
From the directory “Demoinstall” double ckick the menu option “JEvolution Studio”
From the signon screen select user: JEvolution password: JEvolution (it is case sensitive)
You can go to the site: http://www.mcmsoftware.com/docs/jevdocumentation.htm and begin watching the videos starting with “Getting started” and work your way down the menu. It will walk you thru all the functionality of JEvolution.

Linux Instructions:

From a terminal run the command: ifconfig
Write down the mac address (physical address) of your lan card or wireless card. You will need this information to activate the sof tware. Do not use a virtual mac address.

Download the file JEvolution_DM_3500.tar.gz this is the installer file for Linux
After downloading, double-click file JEvolution_DM_3500.tar.gz This will unzip the file and create a directory called "DemoInstall"
From the directory “DemoInstall” double ckick the file Setup.sh (you can do "run in terminal mode" or "run")
In the prompt: "Where would you like to install:" Enter the name of a folder to be created during installation, by default //home/userxx/mcmsoftware will be created
Select the Default language
Select if you want to run inquires or inquires and updates
In the prompt: "Where would you like to create links" select none, unless you want a folder with links to be created
Select a mac address to be registered. Please use a permanent mac address, such as your lan card or wireless card. Please use the mac address selected on the installation pre-requisites

Preparing JEvolution to run

Go to the folder wher you installed JEvolution and find the subfolder /Settings run the file: Setting.sh
File->Open->Setting.properties and press open
Open the repository tab and setup the connection and press test. You should see a "Connection was successful" message.
Open the setup tab and select the location of the browser to use. By deafult Mozilla Firefox will be at: /usr/lib/Firefox/firefox.exe.
File->Save or hit the save icon. You should get two messages: "Connection was successful" and "Setting file has been created".
Close the dialog window
Go to the folder wher you installed JEvolution and find the subfolder /JEWorkspace run the file: JEStudio.sh (this will start JEvolution)
From the signon screen select user: JEvolution password: JEvolution (it is case sensitive)
